Waffle House is pretty comfortable just being Waffle House.

    **************************************************************

This particular Waffle House is pretty clean and not as busy as others. The Waffle House down in Havelock is a little busier with more regulars coming in and out. Service is nice. All in all, I had my usual great experience enjoying everything that Waffle House is and loving every minute of it.

The first time I ate at Waffle House was at 2am on a road trip to Nashville with a friend. I remember watching a lady with teeth missing cooking my waffle with a cigarette in her mouth. Now things have come a little ways since then. They no longer allow smoking in-house from workers or customers. I personally didn't mind having something that would keep all the self-righteous non-smokers out but as it stands I make the case that Waffle House has enough qualities of its own to keep out people who don't jive with its attitude.

A lot of people knock Waffle House. I am pretty adamant about my love for the place and many people respond with an equally adamant dislike. They complain that it's dirty, the food is greasy, or that it's kind of loud. To which I respond, "And...?"

Waffle House is pretty comfortable just being Waffle House. It's a place with booths that bring you closer together to the people you're eating with. There's no separation between customers and workers so that you can hear what the workers are talking about and they can hear what you're talking about. You can see your food cooking. You can hear your food cooking. The workers are usually engaged in conversation and sometimes downright enjoying themselves. They usually don't mind you joining in either. Occasionally they're in a tired or bad mood because it's 6am and they've been working since midnight. Okay, I would be too. There's a jukebox in every Waffle House so you can put a dollar in and choose some tunes to play. This is actually kind of fun at 2am on a road trip. Watch out for the Waffle House songs which I think have an old-time charm to them. The workers have heard them so many times they might moan in agony as they hear one start.

This is what Waffle House is. People who are all about this, LOVE Waffle House. People who don't stay away. Sounds fine to me. It's nothing new though. People who are themselves end up with people who like them and people who don't. That's how people end up with real friends who like them for who they are. Waffle House has a ton of REAL friends who simply love Waffle House for who and what it is.

*I always get a chocolate chip waffle and a coke with cherry syrup. My grandpa gets a waffle with over-easy eggs on top. Everyone who goes here regularly seems to have their own go-to meal.

Tabby was my server and she hit all the points in great customer service. Kudos to you Tabby. The food was satisfying as expected from a good Waffle House run with precision and excellence. Definitely a go to for fast good food.

The servers were very polite, but the manager that was working ( Michelle ) was completely rude to everybody. ( not the customers, but the staff) she would yell their imperfections or mess ups across the room for everyone to hear. It wasn't only disrespectful for me as a customer but I imagine completely embarrassing for the workers.

The worst establishment ever! The waitress that waited on us was eating off the plates on other tables it's horrible! The only other waitress in there was older and mad COMPLAINING about having to wait on customers. Her name was CASSIE and CASSIE was serving 3 young Marines as we were walking out. She was slamming cups to make drinks slamming silverware dropping it cussing right in front of my Husband who is also a Marine complaining why her!!!! What kind of business is this??? I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!  On top of it all it seemed normal to the staff that was all there? I just can't believe how this place is sill up and running. The kitchen is opened and it looks as if no one has ever cleaned it from months ago. Hurricane Florence is gone and this place looks like it got hit by the last Hurricane from LAST YEAR never ever I'm reporting them to the Health department if they even care in North Carolina

Ms. Thelma was a very sweet server: The rest, not so much. Was freezing inside, kitchen was dirty, dishes were dirty, floors were dirty, was literally milk under my menu and the counter was gross all the way across. Overall gross atmosphere
